March Music Lovers Club Meeting

The Islip United Methodist Church hosted The Islip Music Lovers Club’s March meeting and concert. The music was provided by The Stony Brook Brass Trio:
featuring Daniel Jones (Trumpet), Alejandro Salaverry (Horn), and Taylor Peterson (Trombone).
We all enjoyed another wonderful afternoon at our church.
Islip UMC Celebrates Palm Sunday

The Islip United Methodist Church had a wonderful Palm Sunday with a special reading of the Passion of our Lord Jesus according to Mark.
The choir shared some beautiful music as a part of the annual Easter Cantata.
After church, we all enjoyed a catered lunch and fellowship thanks to Frank Grasso.
Following lunch many of our church members attended CM Performing Arts' production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
It was a wonderful day for our church!

Islip Music Lovers Club Scholarship Competition

At their Annual Scholarship Competition Finals Concert, the Music Lovers Club of Islip selected the winners of its 2024 music scholarships.
Congratulations to the following musicians:
Third Place
Diego Garcia, Violin at Bay Shore High School and Kimberly Pineda, Viola at Brentwood High School
Second Place
Maximo Flores, Clarinet at Bay Shore High School
First Place
Kevin Hernandez, Tenor at Brentwood High School
The Islip United Methodist Church Sanctuary was lit up by the sounds of these young musicians as they showcased their musical talents.
Special thanks to Donald Warner, President of the Islip Music Lover’s Club and John Eyre, the 2024 Scholarship Chairperson.
